Joshua Tree National Park is an American national park, located in the Mojave Desert in the east of Los Angeles, Southern California, and it is famous for its unique desert rock landscape. The park was built according to the California Desert Protection Act adopted by the US Congress in 1994. Joshua Tree National Park used to be a national memorial area before that.

Joshua Tree National Park was named after Joshua tree, a large yucca, which is also a typical plant of Mojave Desert. The rocks in the park are formed by magma eroded and cooled by groundwater. Various huge rock walls make it a paradise for rock climbers.

At the same time, due to the special landform and very convenient transportation, Joshua Tree National Park is also a famous star-watching place.

The park reserves the ecological environment of Mojave Desert and part of Sonoran Desert, which is named after Joshua trees widely distributed inside.

According to the Bible, Joshua was the descendant of the Jewish prophet Moses. Joshua led the Israelites to conquer the whole territory of Canaan and established the prototype of the ancient kingdom of Israel. He was a hero in the eyes of Mormons. Mormonism is a branch of Christianity. Because Joshua trees have branches stretching upward, they look like a praying tree from a distance, and they were named by early Mormon pioneers.

Here, we can appreciate Joshua trees and other desert plants growing in deserts and rocks, and feel their tenacious vitality. There are dozens or even hundreds of different hiking and rock climbing routes in the park, making it a paradise for people who love outdoor activities. Sitting around and resting under Joshua tree is also a pleasant outdoor experience.

There are many grotesque rocks having a history of hundreds of millions of years in the park, and many people come here for hiking and rock climbing. In the left cave of the boulder below is a man reading. How did he climb up so high? I admire his good skills.

Joshua Tree National Park has a unique landscape with continuous stone forests and vast sea of Joshua trees. Besides, it's only 2 hours' drive from Los Angeles, so it's worth a visit. By the way, it would be very hot in the desert in summer days, and visitors must be protected themselves from heat stroke and sunscreen.

I believe that for outdoor lovers, the stone forest and sea of trees must be your perfect destinations.
